Amber Jadis Science Champion Award

The Amber Jadis Science Champion Award is a recognition sponsored by the Prince Edward Island Science Fair. It is named in memory of Amber Jadis, a visionary and transformational leader, who was known across PEI as a champion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education. It is awarded annually and recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the development of STEM education on Prince Edward Island. Award recipients play an important role in preparing the next generation of citizens and scientists by providing support and mentorship through promotion of the PEI Science Fair.

The recipient of the inaugural 2025 Amber Jadis Science Champion Award was April MacNevin from Gulf Shore Consolidated School. Ms. MacNevin teaches science in grades 7 to 9. She was nominated by colleagues in the school for her leadership across science programming at the school, and for promoting and creating projects that challenge students to grow their own scientific knowledge. She also established a Maker Cart in the school for students to explore and interact with science and different materials.

The deadline for the 2026 award is February 26, 2026.
